AAR007 – Raised and nurtured in the streets of Muharraq and Manama, DUST. has been an important urban cultural mover in Bahrain for the past decade. As an artist with a heavy arsenal of skills from street art to breakdancing, we bring you the analog medium of his recent musical endeavor; CHNGS VOL.1.
As his third fully produced EP, CHNGS VOL.1 showcases a new wave of lo-fi goodness as he opens a new vortex into a space of sonics and storytelling. One striking feature of the whole project is the short visual accompaniment (CHNGS) filmed by his crew The Unseen Crew.
The beat tape is loaded with 12 tracks crafted from the 404 lo-fi sea of endless possibilities with vibe as soulful as Badu and as powerful as Malcolm X swiftly layered over crunchy bouncing beats.
One noteworthy track is "As We Enter" featuring the talented Sydney-based rapper/producer Apollo Fontane. Friends and relatives of DUST. are also featured in some interludes which makes the production more organic and homegrown as it gives a narrative how busy he was crafting CHNGS VOL.1 beats all year long at his space base in Bahrain.
